Default F45 Delete quick question

A Chevy dealership near my work is going to use the tech 2 machine to delete the F45 out of the BCM next Monday. I'm going to put my C6z06 shocks and C6 Z51 Sways on this weekend. I was wondering if they're going to be able to delete the F45 after I install the new shocks or do I have to delete the F45 in the BCM before I install the new shocks ?

To some it up i need to know if it needs to happen in a certain order.

Thanks ,

Patsfan

If the sequence used to delete is done correctly it wont matter when you change the shocks just do not hook up the ride controller in the rear hatch. The ride controller has to be disconnected before the option will delete. You will love the C6z shocks what a difference. Best of luck. You will have codes if you change the shocks before the option delete. Just do not reconnect the ride controller

is this correct ? I'm just starting to put the shocks in now and have a appointment for Monday @ the dealership to get rid of the F45 and a alignment.

If it is correct this would really mess up the current plans.

You will get the disabled mode until the f45 is deleted. Go ahead and change your shocks. Monday will be soon enough to test out your new performance. Once deleted you never have to worry about resistors failing etc your mod will be complete. No regrets here my vette rides fantastic

Another option is to take to local service/inspection station most have tech2 it is an easy process just disconnect the ride controller with the key off(it is in the rear hatch pull the wiring harness off) Hook up tech2 and delete the f45 option should charge you $50 and you will be done today! Best of luck

I too did the resistor mod in Jan and has worked fine. If you don't delete first I believe you will get codes that may affect how the car drives.

I've done this on 3 different cars - put the resistors in PERIOD. nothing else gto do. You WILL NOT get codes.

If you delete the RPO Code in the BCM,, You can get rid of all that F-45 crap! Save weight and eliminate the chances of something else going wrong with it.

My vote is to eliminate the F-45 RPO code in the BCM.

You need 10 ohm 10 watt wire wound resistors, make sure you get the wire wound. They are ceramic potted that allow them to get hot, about 1 1/2 " long x 3/8 x3/8. Take the shocks off ,"unplugging the wires of course" then cut the plug off of the shock leaving yourself about 4" of wire to work with. Strip the 2 wires back and solder the resistor to it. I then 3M electrical taped mine up and then dunked them in 3M electrical sealer. let them dry. presto you have F45 shock sims. Plug them in to where you unplugged the shocks, ty-rap them down, and your done. price about 4 bucks.

I just wanted to post how everything went for future searchers. I Installed the Shocks last Saturday. I also unplugged the Module in the rear hatch. I then drop the car off on Monday @ Parkers Chevy in Champlain , NY with detailed instructions on how to delete the F45 from the cars cpu. It worked perfectly and from what I can tell they did a great job ( they charged $57.50). So you are able to delete the F45 after i installed the new shocks.

Thanks for the help guys ,

It seems to drive nice. It was raining the night I brought it home so it was hard to tell. The weather since hasn't been good @ all so maybe this weekend I'll be able to enjoy the car some before putting it up for the season.

Did you notice the car sits higher a larger gap between the tires and fenders? It will settle a little but it does ride high. I do not hit anything like it used to inclines etc.Coupled with the z06 bars and end links my car is simply fantastic. I thought about changing the springs from the fe1 to the fe4 zo6 springs but I think it would make the ride too harsh. Best of Luck
