Default Tire recommendation wanted

Car to get mods to around 500 RWHP very shortly, using Z06 wheels presently with Z06 Supercar tires.

I do prefer a tire with low road noise.

What SIZE and BRAND/model tires will give me best traction - street use only - no track.

Will go larger than 295's on there now up to 305's or 315's if they fit with no problem.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Depends on your "need" for tire life and conditions... I had BGR DRs for 3500 miles (315/30/18) on my 2003Z. Now I have Mickey Thompsons, (same size) and I really think the Mickeys hook better. I only use the car weekends and no rain so...

Car used 9 months a year, all types of driving (city/Hwy), will see some rain when I'm out and get caught in it. No snow, no ice, and usually stays in if temps under freezing. More miles per month in warmer months. Would prefer a tire that gets reasonable wear, even if on the low side.

I had goodyear GSD3s and replaced them with some michalin pilots they were avalable to me at a good price at the time but
the goodyears is a superior tire in my opinion . better handling and a much smoother ride I say GSD3s is my choice none run flats

So far I have had 3 sets of D'3's and I agree with you. They do not come any larger than 295, I'm looking for more meat on the road.

although as tsts mentioned, sizes aren't as varied as are those available from Michelin.

An independent testing company found that of the ultra-high performance Summer tires, the Goodyear GSD3s last longest.

I just purchased a set of Nitto Invo's with my ccw's. I reseached them for two weeks before I pulled the trigger and I found nothing but good news about them (and not just from the forum). So far I love them but I have not pushed the car yet. Many members have them now and I PMed about 8 of them and they all agree that they are as good if not better than what they had before but for the much less money (some had Goodyear RF, Mich ps2, Bridgestones, and other cheaper brands).
They are very quiet tire too!

I am running 275/35/18 and 305/30/19's and they look great.

Take a look at them - I think you will like them.

Good luck.

the 275/35/18 were $226 each and the 305/30/19 were $300 each. The ps2 I was looking at were around $425/$495 each. I dont have any miles on mine yet (75 total maybe) but I few members I have talked to said they have several thousand and they seem to be wearing well. The way I look at it if i get 20 - 25K miles out of a performance tire I am doing well. Any more that that the tire has too hard of a compound to give me the max dry performance I want (IMO).
