Default DIC information.

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has any information on how to control the lcd display in the DIC. I know there is one product out there that will control/clear it for Active Handling. I'm looking for any documentation on control codes/parallel interface, etc.

After having my second radar detector stolen out of my car in as many months, I've managed to remotely setup the forward and rear radar units, and I'm interested in piping the current lcd info to the DIC.

That would be wonderful. I would be happy to be able to customize the greeting that the cars gives when you turn the key :chevy

No doubt....this would be a very cool mod. Anyone got any info?

Fang, if you need info about reprogramming key fobs, here it is:
1)Turn the ignition to ON.
2)Turn the radio to OFF.
3)Press the RESET button in order to clear any IPC warning messages.
4)Press and release the OPTIONS button on the DIC to scroll through the display options until the IPC display is blank.
5)Press and hold the RESET button for 3 seconds.
6)Press the OPTIONS button until FOB TRAINING message is displayed.
7)Press the RESET button in order to begin the programming sequence. The message HOLD LK + UNLK 1ST FOB will be displayed.
8)Simultaneously press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the first transmitter for 15 seconds. The IPC will indicate when that transmitter is programmed and when to proceed to the next. Repeat this procedure for each additional transmitter or press the OPTIONS button to exit.

I milled some ABS at work for the front and rear radar units (I still haven't decided what to do with the laser reciever) and attached that piece to the outer side of the passenger side A pillar. The pcb unit itself, once you take off all the plastic, is remarkably small. I fit that inside the passenger side A pillar as well. Then I have a few off the shelf electronics parts to carry and convert the current lcd signals over a ribbon cable to ... wherever it is it needs to go.

We use a ton of the smaller LCD panels at work in our embedded boards, so once I find some more info, it should be relatively easy to get it to pipe through the DIC.

I'll post some pics of the install of the remote units later, and a simple schematic of the CPLD to convert the signals if anyone wants it.

Thanks for the Info! I'm going to try to set mine up soon.
