Has anyone tried comparing the vararam to another filter on the same day/night at the track? i.e. swapping the filter out at the track on the same car on the same day/night not just comparing to last month's track runs?
On all the vehicles I've owned I've never "felt" an increase in HP from a filter change. 10-15rwhp added to 360-380rwhp is kinda a small amount.

You will gain .1-.2 in ET with the Vararam compared to any filter.
The Vararam is a system, not just a filter.
Same q, anyone try swapping their filter for a "vararam system" on the same night at the same track and actually see a difference in ET/MPH?
It's a bit time consuming to install the VARARAM, so I don't think that most folks would be eager to do this just to see a back-to-back same day same track comparison...
This will not work as the ECU has to relearn the new airflows
Basically the vararam has better (forced) airflow but more exposed to the elements
Filter material is what removes the debris, the real test is what allows more clean air, I have a trueflow on the wifes Escalade and that rocks .
My C6 LS 3 is just about to have the Vararam installed, I like the idea of forcing the air into the manifold as opposed to sucking the air through the filter, just stick your hand out the window doing 40 and imagine how thats being forced through the filter into the manifold
I sold my Vararam and bought a Blackwing. I really wanted the vararam, but the poor quality and fitment of the vararam were ridiculously bad. Maybe if they come out with a new version I'll try it again. They need to just make their own scoops rather than modifying the stock panels.
LOL ,Seattle is like the desert compared to Louisiana and our frog choker thunderstorms!Rain not a problem at all. When did Vararam not make their own air scoops? Most ppl with just a tad of mechanical skills have no problems with the fitment of the Vararam, just how long ago did you try one?
I had it about 6 months ago. It was a 2nd gen. I am meaning that they would be better having a one piece scoop that replaced the foglight plastic rather than cutting a hole roughly the size of their scoops and riveting them onto the GM part. Maybe mine was a dud, but the scoops were not level when mounted in the car...they went downwards before they went back up to the filter area. When looking at the front of the car you could see the rivets on the top. Maybe I should have bought screens to cover them up, but I was really disgusted at that point.
I didn't have to add any cuts or rivets, just saying the system has their ducts riveted onto hacked up foglight surrounds. I most likely over reacted getting rid of mine, as I bet you wouldn't really see them with the car being so low to the ground, but with it staring at me on the lift, it bothered me a lot. I'm sure it's a great performer, I just couldn't stomach spending that much money on it, and it being such poor quality. I almost think the system would be better with new designed fog surround with a flexible tubing leading to the airbox. That would allow for any variances in the cars better that a hard duct. Might flow marginally less, but I would think it would be more than adequate.

I have the Blackwing with this induction lid and it's fine. I cut a hole in the shroud so the filter is getting air from under the nose of the car, not the engine bay. It runs fine. I also have LT's and it runs fine.
