Default Service Active Handling dash alarm

I replaced the EBCM on my 01 and it seems to be working just fine but I still have the message Service Active Handling appearing on the dash every time I start the car. I scanned for codes but nothing was found. Is there another procedure I have to do to reset the dash alarm?

Thanks

Earl

The message indicates that the EBTCM is either detecting an issue OR the microprocessor is randomly sending out the message. If the latter is the case, the EBTCM would be bad.

How are you reading the DTCs??? Are you using the built in diagnostic software OR an aftermarket code reader?????

if your using an aftermarket code reader, not all of them will read all of the modules in a GM vehicle. Some only read Power Train Control DTCs

Bill,
I'm using an after market reader. The module had went bad and I sent it to ABSFixer for repair. It does work now, at least the car will track straight during fast take offs instead of jumping sideways. Another thing that concerns me is Brandon from ABSFixer will not answer my emails about the problem. This makes me think the unit still has a problem.

Any advice is appreciated

Earl

Use the on board diagnostics to read the codes and report back. By the way do you have either or both the Service ABS/Service Traction Control messages?

Lack of the car stepping sideways on start isn't an indication of anything. Although if you have a bad posi unit one rear wheel not spinning while the other is would keep the car from stepping sideways.
