Default Two Piece timing Cover?

Is there a two piece timing cover that clears a Melling 296 oil pump and a Cloyes adjustable single chain?

What's different about a melling oil pump dimensionally? The single chain doesn't pose an issue, although a double will with some two piece covers.

I was told the Melling is thicker? Some have said it will not clear the Edelbrock for example. Just trying to plan ahead and get all the parts ahead of time!

Since the QTP was originally designed to clear the QTP high volume oil pump, it will likely clear the Melling but I would verify it with Barry at QTP.

Checking with Melling and the timing cover vendors is the best approach. It's been my understanding, that the Melling pump was a bolt in replacement for the stock LS1/6 oil pump. I know the two piece timing covers have issues with double timing chains, and underdrive pulleys, but I have not heard about oil pumps causing clearance issues with a single chain assembly.

Will a QTP work with a Powerbond pulley?

I have one made by Arun at CDN Performance you can have for $110 shipped. It is a stock cover that was cut and bars welded to each half. The two sections bolt together with a gasket between them using 5 allen head bolts. I successfully did a cam swap with this setup. It was very tight putting the cam gear back on with a double roller. A single would have worked easily.

The only reason I am getting rid of it is because I am going to a LS3 based 416.

PM if interested.
