Any ideas as to why my '99 coupe would tend to sway when going over 55 and I hit either a bump or the pavement is uneven? My front left tire pressure sensor needs to be replaced. Does that have anything to do with that? Please help..

WOW. Thats a very hard thing to troubleshoot over the internet.
I need to know:
- How many miles are on the car?
- How are your tires and are they wearing evenly across the tires width.
- When was the last time the car was aligned????
- What mods have been done to the car.
- What tire pressures do you run?
- Did this happen all of a sudden or over a long period?
The first thing to do is check all the suspension movable wear points for wear, damage and lost motion. I have sone one sit in the car and gently ROCK the steering wheel left to right while I observe all the ball joints, tie rod ends, steering rack bushings, etc for unwanted movement.
Then I jack up each wheel and check the wheel bearings for play.
The rear of our cars have suspension parts that wear out and cause this issue too. Check those for damage/wear
A very common issue is the right rear sway bar connection. The nut tends to loosen over time and squirrley handling is the result. Of course, the problem could be any one or more of those listed by Bill, but I would check the sway bar connection, first.
