Service ABS and Service Transaction Control error message
Service ABS
Service Traction Control
The ABS and Tranction control will then get disabled after the messages are displayed. I took my C5 to the dealership and they said I need the following new parts:
Brake Pressure Modulator Value $2200
Electronic Brake Control Module $620
The dealership also said the parts are located in the front of the car and could not of been damaged by the last auto shop.
Is there a cheaper way to fix this problem? I'd like to get my ABS and traction control working again.

Also, is there any way this could of been caused by the mechanics who changed the brakes?

Please help me if you can

I guess there is a chance that someone changing the brakes could have messed something up. The wheel speed sensors could have been damaged or a ground/connector came loose, but we would need the codes.
with the key in the on position, but the engine not running
push and release the reset button until all messages cleared
next push and HOLD button #4
next push and release button #1 four times while holding button #4
When first engaged the on-board diagnostics go into an "automatic" mode which shows all parameters: PCM-TCS-RTD-BCM-IPC-radio-HVAC-LDCM-RDCM-SCM-RFA. If there are no problems, you will see "no more codes" on the ICP display. The computer will show two kinds of codes, "current" and "history," designated "C" or "H". A current code indicates a malfunction is present in the system whose module is displaying data. A history code indicates a past problem. When the screen displays "manual diagnostics," select the desired module by pressing the "options" button to go forward or the "trip" button to go back. Press "gages" to go forward or "fuel" to go back. To exit the diagnostic mode at any time, press "E/M".
If you want to erase or "clear" codes, press "reset."
Now, during the "brake job" they may have disturbed a wheel sensors connection which would provide those warnings you got. Most likely it is NOT your BPMValve or EBCM...but the CODES you get will tell us...BTW,did the dealership actually run a diagnostic check (that they surely would have charged you $ for) to determine that those 2 components were defective??...there is...a cheaper fix if the EBCM is defective...SO, don't go back there until we get you a solution....
Here are the codes on my vette:
28-TCS
=======
C1243 H: BPMV Pump Motor Stalled
40-BCM
=======
B2723 H: PASS Key Detection Circuit
99-HVAC
=======
B0367 H: Right Actuator Feedback Open
B0363 H C: Left Actuator Feedback Open
B0441 H C: Left Actuator Out of Range
A1-RDCM
========
U1064 H: Loss of Communications with BCM
B0-RFA
======
U1096 H: Loss of Communications with IPC
U1064 H: Loss of Communications with BCM
U1016 H: Loss of Communications with PCM
Is there anyway I can fix the problem without having to replace the BPMV or other major parts?
Thanks and have a Merry Christmas!

Yes, there have been a few people that have solved this issue by servicing the grounds and making sure that all of the other body related electrical systems are normal, Battery properly charged, ALT output is NORMAL 14.0 -15.0 VDC. Theres one other thing that has helped solve this issue on the CHEAP. Disconnect the connection for the BPMV Motor and apply 12VDC to the "MOTOR" side of the connector. (observe the CORRECT polarity) You can make the motor run for 10-15 sec which will free it up if its just stalling because it hasnt been used for a long time. Most people who have AH,ABS seldom activate the system.

Other than that, replacing it your self is the ONLY way to reduce the repair cost.

Thank you so much for your help so far. I really, really appreciate it. I must say that this problem with the TCM has gone away on its own. I no longer see the TCM error code when going into the manual diagnostic codes. Plus, I seem to no longer get the "Service ABS / Service Traction Control" error message when driving.
I am not much of a mechanic. Suppose this problem comes back in the future, which type of mechanic is best qualified to follow these instructions given to me on how to diagnosis my BPMW? Should I take it back to the dealership to follow the instructions from the replies to this thread or shoud I take it to a brake mechanic?
