Default Battery Tender Substitute?

Car is in (commercial) storage for the winter, and I don't want to disconnect the battery for fear of losing all my settings. Unfortunately these storage compartments don't have electrical outlets to use a battery tender. However, I do have a "battery pack" for emergency purposes, and I wonder what good it would do to hook it up, to maintain the Red Top's charge a bit longer? What benefit/result, if any?

Thanks for any input, and Regards, GRT

The battery pack will eventually be drained, so I'm not sure what the net gain is. Also not sure where the fear comes in with regards to losing settings on the seat, radio, mirrors and A/C....it takes about 2 minutes to set everything again......

Thanks for your reply! My thinking is that the battery pack will keep the battery charged, until I take pack home and recharge that. Then I repeat the cycle one or two times until April. The settings are certainly not a big concern. Perhaps "fear" was a poor choice of word. However, I'm obsessive about the seat position, and I'm forever readjusting it to get it just right. As for the radio, on AM it's not worth a hoot anyway, uless I'm sitting right next to the radio station. Regards, GRT

I'd just disconnect the negative cable and forget about it until spring.

Take the battery home, not a big deal. I have had two Battery Tender Plus' go up in smoke so I am now very gun shy about leaving a battery connected to anything for that long. Also, I have a fried who owned a car storage facility at his shop. He wouldn't allow anything like you are suggesting or a normal maintenance charger for that matter. You may want to check with the facility as they may not allow it either.

That is not correct. A lot of the information displayed in the DIC (like average fuel economy, for example) is lost when the battery is disconnected.
