Default I need some clutch help

Tonight I went out to my garage to change the clutch fluid on my 03 Z06, cause it was nasty. So I used the old turkey baster and shop towels method to suck out slave cylinder and wiped it clean with the shop towels, refilled the fluid to the correct level and got in the car to pump the pedal. Now I have heard some popping of a spring under the dash occasionally when the clutch pedal was pressed to the floor, well tonight the spring fell out and hit my foot as soon as I pressed the clutch pedal to the floor for the first time. It had cracked on one of the ends and one of the coils was cracked as well. So I need to replace it obviously, but I couldn't see where it came from under the dash, I assume it was connected to the clutch pedal, but where? I don't want to drive the car until it's replaced to prevent damage, but the pedal doesn't go to the floor and stay there it comes right back up.

Any idea what this spring is called?

Had to order one today, no dealerships or parts stores had one on Oahu, so 5-7 business days from now I should have a new one. Only cost $10

Your clutch will work fine without it. Some guys remove it when they have problems with the clutch pedal sticking to the floor.

Go to Leonard's bakery and have a malasada for me!!! :o

Which one? They have a truck that sells 'em at the NEX parking lot, they are awesome!!!!! Fresh from one of the Bakeries is best though. Some co-workers bring them in from time to time, they don't usually last long. Thanks for the help too.
