Default Need Help Bad!

So I utilized the search function, hoping that I wouldn't have to create a separate post for my current dilemmas, however, I wasn't able to find a post with my combination of problems. So here goes...

I did a carbon fiber swap for my radio bezel and gauge cluster recently. Everything seemed to have gone fine until I turned on the ignition, and the "SERVICE COLUMN LOCK" appears. Weird thing is my steering column isn't actually locked. This issue was fixed by GM on the recall, and I can still drive the car fine even though the "SERVICE COLUMN LOCK" is showing. Also, the gas gauge is all over the place. The analog dial will show the tank is full, but the digital "RANGE" read out shows LOW. After a few miles of driving, the digital read out will slowly start climbing and sometimes start decreasing. It's even plummeted to the point where my "CHECK GAUGES" lit up. I have read some posts about a cleaner I can use next time I fill up, but I was wondering if anyone has faced these problems in combination with one another.

One more thing...I don't drive my car very often (2-3 days out of the week), and recently I've had to jump my car quite frequently. I just thought the battery wasn't holding a charge very well since it sits for 48 hours or more at a time. I've read on the other posts that a bad battery may be the source of a lot of gauge problems as well.

Well, I think that about sums it up...HELP!

I would check battery and probably get a new one. Are you not getting pull key and wait ten seconds?

Before I encountered all the above issues, I would randomly get the "pull key and wait ten seconds". My steering column was locking up prior to the carbon fiber install, but after the install I just get the warning and no physical lock on the steering column. I remedied the lock by jolting the steering wheel from side to side.

If your column was locking and now it is not you may have disconnected the column lock actuator while you were under the dash.
If it is disconnected and a CLB is not installed you will get the service column lock message. I also would look into the battery, I had a similar problem with the pull key wait 10 sec, and a new battery solved the issue.
