Tranny leak
Derek
Here's what I posted in the "other" Forum to a similar question:
"Don't be fooled, it's a HUGE DEAL! To fix the problem properly, they have to take the whole rear end of the car apart. A dealer with experience (and it is covered under warranty), may be able to do it in a day, but don't count on it. Mine took a week. If you let them, they may try to smear some glop on the outside to seal it up; this is only a temporary fix. To do it right, they need to take out the entire rear end, axle, wheels, and all, open up the case, replace all the seals, left, right, and center, refill with new fluid, and put the whole thing back together without any parts left over.
Go to a reputable dealer, grit your teeth, and make sure you have it done right. I bet you have a 2000 C5. GM fixed it around mid- to end of year 2000. Good luck. "
Note the part about the "temporary" fix -- they smear some goop on and it won't last. Have them do it right -- it's a known issue.
BTW, it's not in anyway related to shifting without using the clutch. :D :)

the rear input shaft seal
the right secondary air valve
that was it...said they had to remove the tranny/rear end and everything. But if they did all that...and supposivly did it right..why would it be doing it again ??
Derek
If they did it correctly it shouldn't leak again (correctly means all the seals, not just the one -- there is a complete factory kit for the seals).
Check if they just smeared some sealer on the areas as well.
