I don't have enough seat time in WF yet to have an objective opinion but, regardless of what I personally prefer, I have to use what my company uses because that's what the workstations have installed and it's what 99% of our clients use. They comprise the biggest corporations in the medical industry so I guess SW has a pretty large fan base in my industry.
Yeah, it comes down to personal preference I suppose. I use Wildfire 4.0 currently...and love it. I've also used Catia(which I didn't care for). Solidworks is solid program. I do not, in any way, miss AutoCad..

Speaking of data transfer, here're the data translators that are built into IronCAD:
IGES
ACIS
Parasolid
STEP
CATIA V4 and V5
Pro/Engineer
Granite
Unigraphics (import only)
HOOPS
PDF/3D PDF
3DS
HDR/PIC
EXR
ICO
AVI
BMP
COB
DXF/DWG
EPS
GIF
JPEG
Kodak Photo CD
OBJ
POV
PCX
PNG
TGA
TIFF
Visual Basic
WMF
STL
VRML
SCN
RAW
PRJ

Like SolidWorks, you won't be designing a jet fighter using IronCAD, but unlike SW, the install takes up only 400 MB of disk space and that includes animation, hardware, and (mild) FEA.
