Supercharging (done right) will cost a lot more or a little less (depending on the supercharger and whether you are going to do the install yourself).

I don't see how anyone can possibly beat that kind of a deal. I have never installed a SC on a Vette, and I don't really care to experiment on my car. I'd rather have someone do it who has done it before, and can tune it right there.

I have auto trans, so I might have them do something to the trans, not sure. I have 3.15 gears, so I'd consider switching to 3.42's.

Anyway, for less than $7,000 you've got a SC on your car and you're definitely making good power........................ Plus, you haven't ruined drivability, which is very important to me. I've been driving high-power muscle cars for 35 years, and they are fun, but I'm tired of rumpety-rump cams and rough engines.

Skip all of the mumbo jumbo and go straight to the sc. I have all the bolt ons and spent the same amount in total to have a sc. If money is an issue save it. Air filter here, headers there. NO!!! Get a s.c. then start doing the little bolt ons.

To the OP, hopefully you realize that ALL the hp numbers you see from GM (or any other manufacturer) are flywheel numbers, not rear wheel horsepower (rwhp).

My 2002 Coupe was 296 rwhp, even with a Blackwing CAI and Ti Z06 catback.

A&A V3 SQ s/c added 143 rwhp (439 rwhp) and cost about $5,000. And that's with a restrictor plate in the intake to keep it under 9 psi boost!!! I installed it myself (had never installed one before - Andy will walk you through it over the phone bolt by bolt if necessary). Normal street driveability around town, but push the pedal down and hang on.

You really don't need that much to run with a stock LS3. Instead of looking a hp, look at 1/4 mile ET. Road track performance is something else altogether. I would guess that headers, vararam, 3.42 or 3.73 gears and a high stall with tuning would allow you to run with the LS3. The quick LS3s appear to run low 12s based on a glance at the C6 performance list. There are a couple of outliers below that but generally they run 12.25 to 12.6 at around 114 or 115 mph. I am at 12.33 @ 114 mph, check my signature for mods.

LS2 or LS3 create motor

Both will need the LS1 adapter kit and the LS3 will need a bigger radiator. LS3 and all larger cube motors run hot.
