Default Header question

Anyone have any info/insight on the difference in the kooks l.t.'s and the american racing lt.'s for a c5 ?, they look very simular to me in the pictures and i have not been able to look at either up close or talk to anyone who has used both brands for a comparison. Thanks in advance for any info.

Both Ar and Kooks are excellent headers. Most people who tell you to get one brand or the other will choose the brand they bought. I have Kooks on both my C5 and C6, and have been very happy with them. I would say between Kooks, LGs, and ARs it really depends on who you can get the best deal from at the time of purchase

Thanks slvr76, i'm kinda leaning towards the ar's but noticed the how simular the kooks look. I'm going to run cats and the lg's appear to locate the cats further back than the ar or kooks.

CH.Craft, You need to look again. There are major differences between the systems. If you need me to point them out to you I highly recommend you call me (631-608-1986) or PM me a phone number and a best time to reach you and I'll call you with all the information as well as help you select the ARH system that best suits your needs. Thanks.

Kooks headers are top notch quality and have excellent fitment. Let me know if you are interested or have any questions. I can get you a great deal on them.

Look at the placement of the "X" on the ARHs... THEY did their homework!

I have ARH"S with GHL catbacks and it sounds good They also have front and rear O2 sensors so no need to move or alter sensors.

I have installed both and they are both high quality systems. I helped a buddy install his Kooks and put a set of AR's in the wife's C5 a couple summers ago. The AR were easier to install. I did those alone with no issues. We had to jack the motor off it's mounts to get the Kooks in but, no big deal.

Here are the AR headers I installed.

I contacted nick at arh and got the info i needed on header selection. Very good info, if you are looking into buying headers call nick at arh. I ordered the arh's from buyunspeed today, they have a very good sale going right now.

I don't know why you're not considering LG "streets". They're on special right now, and feature longer primary tubes that either Kooks, or ARHs. Better for torque band.

You do not buy headers based on looks. THe AR headers will be an easier install when compared to any other product out there.

I DID NOT BUY BASED ON LOOKS, BUT AS I SAID I NOTICED HOW SIMULAR THE KOOKS AND ARH LOOKED IN THE PHOTOS THAT I HAVE SEEN. I DONE THE RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THE DIFFERENCE IN THEM.

The difference between the two is 10 or 15 bucks. Thats probably all at the end of the day. I went with the AR 1 7/8 myself.
