Default What is correct MAF Position

I installed the Vararam a few weeks back and I didn't look at the MAF position in relation to the throttle body before reinstalling. I have driven over 1000 miles since and the engine surges at low RPM's and I have lost 5 mpg. I did disconnect the batter during the vararam installing also. I plan on cleaning with MAF sensor cleaner and ensuring there are no leaks between the MAF and throttle body but could someone confirm the correct MAF position? I have searched many times on this but haven't seen a clear response yet with something like "the side with two sensors should be lined up with..."

I assume I need to disconnect the battery again after this change?

I read about the flow arrow in other threads which I will look for while it is off but I assume that only helps keep you from completely reversing the direction of the air flow over the sensors. I am also curious about rotating the MAF to line up the 2 sensors vs. 1 correctly with the throttle body.

Aside from correct air flow, the original MAF position is approx. 10:00 towards the drivers side...

Just had mine off the car tonight. There are two arrows, top and bottom. They point the direction of flow. As far as clocking it goes I doubt it matters because the air bridge is so flat that it would change the airflow anyways.
