Default Hurrican VS Vararam

The Hurrican is already on my car and it looks good was on there when i bought the car. I found a New Vararam locally for $290 and was thinking about buying but is it better then my Hurrican already on my car? The following mods are going to be done soon and I want to get as much out of her as possible!!!!!!!!
ARH 1 7/8 plus ARH X PIPE plus BORLA Stingers or straights
Custome Dyno Tune

SHOULD I SCRAP THE HURRICAN??????????

If you clean the filter once on the Hurricane that will be reason enough for the swap, performance aside. I am no too thrilled with the filter used either.

Performance wise I wouldn't think there would be much difference. On the surface doesn't seem like it would be worth the swap. I have the vararam and it works for me.

Headers, a VaraRam and a tune will make a significant difference over your hurricane.
Sell the hurricane.

If you still had the stock intake, I'd say, yeah man, jump all over that Vararam for $290. But the hurricane (like most of the other aftermarket intakes) is a big improvement already over stock. I believe that at low speeds the two are going to provide nearly identical performance. The benefit of the Vararam is that it's directly ducted to the intake in such a way as to take advantage of ram pressure at high speed. You won't see that benefit at low speed OR on a dyno. And I seriously doubt that the few extra hp (assuming there are any of course) would be detectable by seat of the pants. I say stick with your Hurricane and find another performance mod to put that money toward. Just my .02.

Save the money and be happy. Put the money towards the headers and tune. While the VR is a better performer what you have is good enough. You'd never feel the difference.

i would not change intakes. I just dont see any more than a HP or two gain, but you can also have an Hp or two loss. Buy a cam with the $300 bucks. I think the 1 7/8 headers are a little larger for those mods.

Id love to do a cam but there is alot of labour there and if you do the cam you might aswell do the heads and thats lots of $$$$$ And i am eventually going to want to put an FI on here and I think I would want a differnt cam for FI and a differnt for NA right???
Thats why I am putting on 1 7/8 headers now. I wish I had money and I could do it all this spring arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I've got a Carbon Fiber Hurricane intake and air bridge with Kooks 1 3/4 headers and a tune on my 2004 Z06.

It looks pretty cool and the car seems faster. Adding a Hurst Billet Plus shifter made it feel like a whole different car. The shifter changed the driving experience significantly for the better.
