Default Help with FAST 90/LS2 TB on LS6...with pics

Ive read through as many threads/posts as I could on installing this thing and I still am confused. I would LOVE some up close pics of how people ran the harness and the pcv lines. Do I have to get a map relocation kit? I will document my entire install once I get everything figured out. Thanks for all the help!

First pic...where does the connector on the far right and left go?...

I thought it went here but when you remove the ls6 tb that connection goes with it...

Do I cap this off? Im assuming yes...

I will take some detailed pics of the install tonight for you! There are a number of people who have been asking the same questions. Its time to add some more pics to photobucket.

The only major differences in the TBs are 1, no provision for the hot water tube on the LS2, so just do the bypass mod, the single inlet for crankcase/PCV on the LS2 which gives you nowhere to put the vent tube from pass. side valve cover. I got a catch can, and put a 'T' one the PCV line to CC. Of course the wiring problems are self explanatory...there's only one way to re-connect. You do need an adapter harness to plug in your new TB to your old wiring, but I assume you knew that. When I did mine, I didn't relocate the map sensor, but have since. Might be a good time to re-locate your MAF to up by the TB if you can. It doe's seem to be easier to tune and idle better than down in the original spot.

The hose from the passenger side valve cover needs to go to the coupler. Do not block the valve cover or you have FUBAR's the PCV system.

I see 2...no tube and no connection on the ls2 on the passenger side. Pic number 2 in my first post shows the 2 spots I am talking about...

Not sure I understand your comment here. The electrical connection to the LS2 TB is a single connection to which you must plug it two wires that would otherwise connect to the LS1 TB.

As for the hose, you can't cap it off but rather provide fresh filtered air after the MAF but in front of the TB blade. See my photo although I have a NW throttle body.

The black connection in the second pic isnt on the ls2 tb. In the 2nd pic you can see the connection on the ls6 tb and in the 3rd pic you can see the ls2 connection. Where does the plug that originally goes on the ls6 tb (the one in pic 2) go when I put on the ls2 tb?

Ok, if we ever meet, you owe me a hot cup of coffee. Had to dig the car out of 2" of snow to get the pics.

I thought you had a FAST intake.

There are TWO stock GM connectors on the C5 TB. One connects to the Throttle by Wire Motor on the drivers side of the Throttle body. The other connector connects to the Throttle Position Sensor on the passengers side of the C5 Throttle Body.

When you install a LS2 TB, theres only ONE connector and thats on the passengers side:

When you order a LS2 wiring harness adaptor it joins the Throttle Position sensor connector and the Throttle by Wire Motor harness into one connector that plugs into the passengers side of the LS2 TB.

Here are pictures of the connectors:

Throttle position sensor connector:

Heres the same connector seperated:

Heres a pic of the drivers side with the Throttle by wire motor connecto The part of the connector in my hand is the C5 harness. the C5 part of the harness is the MALE part of the harness. The adaptor harness is the female part:

MAF relocation kit:

Hope this helps.

Bill

Bill you are the man...pm me your address and Ill send you a starbucks card for your time (seriously). I think I found out my problem...look in the second pic I posted...the throttle position connection that connects to the ls6 tb (you can barely see a pink wire) should mate to the ls2 harness connection (the connector with the blue rubber on it...dont know a better way to explain it) BUT they are the same type of connecter (I think they are both females)...my problem is I need one male and one female. I think I am missing a part that would allow them to connect to one another....

edit: in Bills second and third pic you can see how the two parts of the connection connect to one another, well I cant connect the ls2 harness to the c5 wiring for the tps because I think I am missing a piece on the end of my ls2 harness. You can see in this pic that the tps (the top connector) does not look like mine does in my pics. The way mine looks it looks like it plugs into something where as I think something plugs into it....

FOUND OUT THE ISSUE: I was missing a piece that goes on the end of the ls2 harness on the tps connector...its was still on the previous owners car. Without this piece I couldn't connect the harness to the c5 connector.

with that valve cover line if you want to cap it off you need to run a valve cover breather or put an adapter in the coupler from the maf to tb and run the to their.

KURT...those are perfect! Thanks a lot sir! I will post a pic of the piece that I was missing. Where did you get the breather on the oil cap? Im thinking about getting that instead of running the pcv line to the coupler...

Mine's hooked up just like Kurts, except the breather tube he capped off, goes to a 'T' in the line to the catch can on my application. He used a oil cap breather instead, which accomplishes the same thing. On your original picture, you have an old style TB/PCV connection that you are eliminating by going to a LS6 style valley cover, correct?

Yea, the Northeast Trundra Dandruf is terrible these days. Had to wear snow shoes out to the Z and hitch up the sled dogs to get back to the garrage. BURRRRRRRRRRR. Its 12 deg out right now and suppose to drop down to 06.

Ive been able to drive the Z once since late Dec. My son was the last one to drive her when he was home on leave.

The good news is, I HAVE MY NEW SPEC CLUTCH!!! When I get back from Guam in March, the drive train mods will begin!!!
