The Advanced Induction link from Uncle John will get you heads that breath sustantially better the the Z06 castings but the kicker is the cam. I find the Z06 cam noticably chunkier than an LS1 stick but maybe that's just me. With good heads and exhaust all the power comes from the cam choice. I guess you have to check the Z06 idle for yourself and decide if it is sneaky enough for you

The "stockish" driving heads/cam combo we've come across that made impressive power gains has been the Lingenfelter GT11 cam with P&P LS6 heads (I would recommend TEA Stage II's), although TFS 215's would work great as well. With manual LS2 we've picked up 100rwhp with the Headers/Cam/Heads. Automatic LS2's (A6 Vettes) we've picked up 87rwhp. I wouldn't expect that much of a gain on a LS1/LS6, but it'd be close. Not bad for cam that idles at 650rpm, and sounds bone stock.
