I just recently purchased a 99 Coupe. After taking possession I noticed the horn was inop. The relay for the horn was not in place in the relay box. I swapped a similar relay to the horn position and the horn immediately came on and stayed on until it was removed. Records that were provided by the sellers agent indicate past problems. In 3-07 the horn fuse replaced. In 12-07 the hi and lo note horns replaced along with the fuse. In 2-07 the horn contact was removed and bolstered (what ever that means ) the outer contact. All this was done by Eismann's Corvette in Jupiter Fl. Can anybody help?? Thanks in advance

you can remove the horn pad and jiggle the red wire to see if it fixes the problem..it will come back, but you simply repeat it a few months later. there are two T30 torx head shoulder screws that hold the pad frame to the wheel hub area. once you loosen them and do the fix, don't tighten them down hard, so the next time it happens it will be easy to get them out...they are a pistol to line up too. I made a short tool to drive them in only finger tight. the airbag will still function with loose screws as long as most of the threads are engaged....but you don't ever want to prove that do you.
