Ignition switch repair
After several attempts to fix my starting problem, I repaired the ignition switch, and the problem is finally fixed. The contacts were burnt as described in the repair write up posted by Bill Curlee. The write up was great and the repair was simple and straight forward. One thing I noted (and I don’t think it was mentioned in the write up) is that some of the contacts seemed to be off center. This was due to how the contact arms were bent. After careful straightening, they seem to be centered now. This could have lead to a poor contact and premature failure.
