I need help. My gauge at about 5/8 of a tank just drips to 0. Of course the dash light comes on. I drive for about 20 miles, turn it off, and it work fine all the rest of the way. I was told to change out the right fuel pump, so I did that. No help. I have run the cleaner through the system, and that did not work..... ANY SUGGESTIONS!
Sounds like you are a candidate for the "Techron" treatment.Just once probably not enough,,I'd try 1 or 2 bottles in the first tank,,and 1 per tank for a few more tanks. A very good chance your gauge will start working again!! This is a common problem and a common fix. Is yours a low mileage, not driven often car? Seems these are the ones that have tis problem the most.

Will try a few more bottles. My 98 is a very low miles, and I do try to get out when weather permits.
Thanks and will let you know if changes.....
Living in Ga.,,should be driving it EVERYDAY!!Well almost anyhow!!I live about 600+ miles north(close to St.Louis) and drive it almost every day!! My theory is the more it sits,,the less the gauge float is moving allowing it to get a bit of corrosion to make it to go wacky!(reported to be sulfation from the fuel) Get it out and ENJOY,,they are meant to be driven!!!
I had the same problem. Two bottles of "Techron" and it works just fine now. Make sure you take the tank down as empty as you can safely before puting it in, and let it stay overnight before filling up with a good name brand gas. It took two times to get the sender on my '98 working right but, now is back in shape. Mine is also a daily driver and has high mileage, as it should.
If after the Techron, things still don't improve, there is a firmware update from the TIS website for the techs. I did this and it finally solved the same issue that I had.

Make certain you are purchasing and using the Chevron Techron Plus Concentrate.........should be using the larger bottle, which is good for up to 20 gallons, not the smaller one, which if memory serves me correctly, is good for up to just 12 gallons of fuel
