I bought a new cowl/air inlet screen and can't for the life of me get the wiper arms off. I pulled the caps, removed the nuts, and even went out and bought a gear puller. Ground the gear puller down so the legs would go under the arms, but still no luck.
Any tips or tricks, or tools?
I just this minute finished relocating my oil pressure sensor on my '98 coupe, using the cutout method and I also had a bear of a time removing them. I bought the tool from Advance auto parts especially for removing the wipers, modified it and still no-go. I finally resorted to clamping a big set of vise grips at the end near the stud and after liberally soaking the studs with WD40 wiggled the vise grips till they came off. They weren't letting go easily.
I just removed the nut, sprayed some wd-40 on the joint, thredded the nut on so that it was flush with the top of the the threaded stud and while pulling up on the wiper arm,,, whacked the nut/shaft and off it came.
You can also use a small puller.
If you have an old puller like they sell for top post batteries, that should also work.
Thats how i got mine off. They're a PITA. Soak in WD, then use the small puller. You can usually borrow one for free from Oreillys or Autozone. Trust me, worth saving yourself the blood pressure bump!!!!!
Thanks everyone. I sprayed it with PB Blaster and am letting it soak over night. Maybe I will get lucky and they will pop off tomorrow!!
You really do not need to let it stand over night for the PB to work. First put some protection on the windshield and make sure you don't have a cheap smaller battery terminal puller because that puller will fail. I needed to go and get a larger terminal puller and POP it was off. It does require some muscel to get loose.

The advantage of a puller is that you are not putting stress on the wiper shaft, so you don't end up breaking something else in the process.
I actually bought a small puller made just for wipers. It was one piece with a forked base to fit under the arm, and a **** on the top.
Well, I let it soak overnight and tried the puller again when I got home, still no luck. So I just decided to jiggle, wiggle and pull the crap out of it. And bam they FINALLY came off!! Got the new cowl on, painted the wiper arm back to black rather than the dull grey/black color, and everything looks GREAT!!! Thanks alot for the help.

Thats what I did as well, let the PB Blaster soak for about 30 minutes then grabbed the wiper near the end with the bolt and just wiggled it up and down and after a bit it finally came off. The second one popped right off as soon as I started wiggling it...thank goodness!
Thanks for the info. I am getting ready to change my cowl and arms with in the next few weeks so I ordered a puller. A cheap version so we'll see how it does.
