Default Oil Temp Low

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem, cant seem to find anything on it. All other gauges read the temp, but the oil temp remains at "low" after driving around for an hour still says low. Anyone have any pictures of where this is located and if its a hard job to replace ?

Have you done any work under your car like maybe installed a set of headers? After I installed my LG's, I kept getting a "Low oil temp" message. I removed and forgot to reconnect the sender wire for the oil temp when making room to get the headers in. After reconnecting the wire the problem ws solved.

No headers and i havent taken anything apart. Do you have a picture of your install maybe showing where the sensor is at?

There is a glitch in the oil pressure temperature gauge circuit. If you start car in very cold temperature, it will keep this warning posted UNTIL you restart car with temperature above 20 F (I believe this is the temperature).

This is true! There have been many times when I've had my car parked outside overnight in the winter, and when starting it up in the morning the oil temperature is below -8C (which I believe converts to 20F) so it simply reads oil temp low, and it won't show you the actual temperature until you driven the car for a few minutes and then shut it down for about 2 minutes. Another way around it is to make sure that when you shut the car down at the end of the day, switch the DIC setting to either the fuel setting or one of the trip settings. If you do this, then the next time you start up the car on a cold morning, drive it for a few minutes before you switch it to any of the gages settings. That way, you let the oil temperature get above that minimum threshold first before you check to see what it says. Then it'll read properly instead of giving you that low oil temp warning.

Guess that's the reason I have never seen this message!
If it ever gets this cold, I am not going anywhere.
