What have you done to isolate the issue?
Turned out to be the YAW sensor which was giving out funny readings when he polled it.
The only reason why I equate your problem to my V is the Z has the same sensors.
Hope this helps.

so I would say I have done ALOT to determine the shop using a TECH II to monitor the SWPS made a wrong diagnosis that I had a bad EBCM..
I'm not one to jump the guy on calling a tech out.. The tech who works on my cars has been doing so for 10 years and has been the corvette tech at two dealerships (i've followed him to both).
He just missed the ball with this one... it happens!
now back on to the problem.. has anyone else had a misdiagnosis and solved it?
Two bolts holding it down.
A hell of a lot easier to replace then the SWPS.
Also about three times the price (<$200.00)

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

here are pix of the bad sensor.. see how the ink in the bottom of the sensor lifted (wore out).

no...
oh well.. all done now.. and still cheaper than the dealer.. they would have charged +/- $2,000 for the EBCM guess then calle dme back to say there was something else ALSO wrong and changed me another $500.. so in the end I guess $770 < $2500
stick to your hunches on this one guys!

All . Thanks for tutorials and live experience on servicing traction control plus. The internet is a wonderful place & you generous knowledge workers are invaluable..
My story :
My sister recently drove her '02 convertible from Atlanta to New Orleans without incident. Days later, she encountered a partially rain flooded street with a very rough railroad tracks crossing.
But no troubles till the next day : 2 trouble lights TCS & ABS and text message on the driver information panel.
A long-standing reputable Chevrolet Dealer reports going down the trouble shooting tree , concluding the EBCM must be replaced, cost $1472(more than sources in the thread) and alltogether $1725 with labour including another small unrelated fix.
I questioned the service manager by fone (from Chicago) and pointed out many of the checks & ideas mentioned in this forum / thread.
He maintains the service tech did all indicated checks / tests & it must be the EBCM. But reading Z06_BluByU last post 3-28-09 01:32 PM ,,, NOW I'm scared the dealer could be still wrong. So I insisted we keep the old EBCM . I think they forgave the core charge.. 7/01/09 PM .
I'm thinking if codes come back , they should buy back "their" new module put in our good one and solve the real problem, on their nickel.. We'll see today 7/02/09 when she gets the car back.
AND how did Z06_BluByU do after all ???
OH ! as I try to post this above, I see discussion on SWPS (steering wheel position sensor) failure and Yaw-pitch sensors also at fault ! YIKES ! Sadly complex electronic systems have more interactions than the harried car engineers can account for in the allotted schedules and
costs. I know , as I worked at a BIG OEM component / module supplier recently..
Cheers & many thanks , satern1
