Great thread I've learned much about headers. Now that I know what they should be I'm having hard time finding out what they realy are. Seams they all claim SS304 as the material, same sizes of primaries etc. Since the cheep imports are carbon copies of the popular domestic type it only seems that the workmanship can only be the difference. The magnet test is a great idea but I would like a little more before spending twice the money for similar product. I know AR Headers are highly regarded among many of people, just wondered if the warranty was as good as the sales pitch and I don't mean it in a bad way. Basically will the domestic headers last twice as long as the cheep imports? I'm about to pull the trigger on a new system but still have trouble dishing twice the money for equipment that does not present twice the value.

Buy the OBX headers. You won't be disappointed.

Some of us have no qualms with others buying copy cat brand headers. But when others critisize you foir doing it, you have to defend your position.

If all the naysayers wish to spend $1000 plus dollars for headers, more power to them. Some of us just aren't going to that when there is another option out there.

sinister, how much were those high flow cats you got? And AR, I have had both these cheapies and the expensive ones for the C5, when will I notice this difference other than in my wallet? Both look the same after about the same about of use and both perform nearly identical.

Just curious, have you ever had your car dyno tuned?

I tune it on the track w/ a wideband. Before the long tubes it went 115 after it went 119 mph.

Hey everybody ,this has been a great thread and will help us all to make the right decision when it comes time to buy. I'm getting ready to buy gonna take a ride out to AR headers in Amityville Long Island NY ,and see what he has to say .I go with an open ,unbiased mind I'll tell all what I see and what he says and you can form your own opinion. I am not gonna bash him he is confidant enough to open his doors, he most certianly believes in his product and although I've never met him I respect him for that....stay tuned.....

I do hope you can go there unbiased.

They make terrific products, and can custom-build to order.

You might not need, nor be willing to pay for the higher-tier product they offer, but for those of us that DO have a need for that, we are fortunate they are there to fulfill our demands.

15k on my OBX headers and not a single problem. They will last just as long and perform just as well as the high dollar headers, people are just hatin'. Notice how every negative comment has no first hand experience with these headers. Trust me best mod I have purchased to date. And I agree most knock off products I would NEVER buy but we are talking about tubing here not a supercharger

I'm not buying the cheap *** bull **** from China. That **** almost took off my head as a result of poor craftsmenship. I had a 12 ton press from HF that the welds broke loose and threw debris and my work into my face..... I'm very lucky to be here.

I'm not trying to be an *******. But cheaper isn't better in most cases..
