here's a dumb air bag question
when i purchased my 98 4 years ago i did so (and got a great price) knowing full well that it was a front impact car... it sat for 2 years because the kid who cracked it up stopped paying on it. bank finally repo'd it and sold it to "skip's garage"...well "skip" made it road worthy but didnt make it a corvette again... anyway... the dash cover on the passenger side that covers the airbag? is now not tucked into the dash like it should look from the factory...i had the dealer pack new bags and sensors when i bought it because the check airbag light was on...the system works fine now with no dummy light anymore but the airbag cover just looks horrible.
any suggestions about getting it back tucked into the dash the way it is supposed to look?

Difficult to understand the problem without a picture but the dash should cover the edges
You can see from the attached how it sits in the housing. Is it seated properly behind the dash?

no it is not...the complete rectangled dash pad that opens up upon inpact is sitting completely on the dash....not behind it...is there a way to install it behind the dash like it should be?...
