I bought a used set of Z06 valve covers to go with my new 243 heads (I had perimeter style). There has been some grinding underneath the covers. Should there be drip tabs on these? If so, is it a problem with stock rockers and no drip tabs?

Likely done to clear aftermarket rockers. I had to do the same on mine and most aftermarket valve covers don't have the baffles either. The only issue you "might" have is pulling more oil into the PCV system.
What PCV setup are you running?
I switched to the 04 setup where the PCV is under the valley cover and the only hose required is the fresh air hose on the passenger valve cover.
Do these valve covers have the correct PCV connections for your setup?
