Your best bet is to call a few vendors here on the forum and discuss what your expectations are, and they will point you in the right direction. Picking a cam can drive you . Sice you plan on going with F/I down the road, you have to put that into consideration as well when choosing a cam.

Good luck!

If u want choppy idle and great numbers than FTI street sweeper 228/232 with 111 LSA and lift is around 600. Or since u will be adding SC than u might want something like G5X3 with 114 LSA.

You can go a little bigger cam without piston to valve clearance issues.

232-236 on a 114

I have a torquer v.3 with some milled LS6 head and they cleared the pistons... but it was too close for comfort so I had valve reliefs cut in them

I got 641 on the intake side and 598 on the exhaust 231/234 111 LSA

You should change the valvesprings with any of the mentioned cams in this thread. Pretty cheap insurance, and the stockers just really aren't up to the job.

The G5X3 is a great cam! I have it in my car and when tuned right, shouldn't be a problem even for a DD.

You will definitely need a dual spring for this cam. Patriot golds or Extremes are a great choice.

It can be supercharger friendly, all depends on what LSA you go with on it. When I did my research I was told to go 114 or higher if you plan on going S/C. You will lose some lope sound to it as compared to a lower LSA but once you S/C you will not lose boost as it will blow through with a lower LSA

On my second cam and currently running the Whipalsh from Gulf Coast performance (England Green) and very happy. with stock heads and injectors (for now) I recorded 402/374 on a DynoDynamics dyno. As stated above call a few vendors and talk about your set-up and goals for suggestions.

The only problem is that the shops always recomend thier cams of course. Also the flow tech street sweeper and Texas speed look promising. There's too many tochoose from. I would like around 500rwhp with capabilities of Being a DD and with a somewhat loapy idle

Sorry, you will not get anywhere near 500 rwhp with headers, cam, and Ti mod. Time to seriously rethink your plans or goals!

If 500rwhp is your goal, then I would look into skipping the H/C for now, and go straight to a blower. by the time you do H/C/FAST 92 etc..you could have bought a blower, and make a lot more power with stock-like driveability.

And most of the SOTP power is in the tune, not in the peak HP number on the dyno curve. I've seen many 430 HP street tuned machines that sound and feel WAY more powerful than a 500 hp dyno queen.

And you can't go wrong with whatever EnglandGreen puts in.

The Whiplash II is amazing.

This sounds good. But you will also need to change your springs. Z06 springs are not good above a 5.75 lift. Plus new push rods. the stock ZO6 cam is a smaller diameter IIC to the rods are longer.

I run a 224/224 581/581 on 112 with 918 springs.

Small cams may not be a popular item, but the throttle response is far better then many big cams. and quicker off the line or out of corners

SC need small cams. Stick with the stock Z06 cam if your adding a SC.

I recommend G5x3 on 114 LSA for a SC, as he wants choppy idle too, seems like op wants best of both world power of FI, and sound of a N/A.
