Installed Blackwing today!

I'm thinking of doing an intake mod before I take ol' Blue Thunder out of winter storage.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
The install was very simple, it should take about 1/2 hour. The Tech Tips section has a very good step by step. Two things which would have made it much easier 1) The stock airbox needs to be forced off the mounting studs with a fair amount of pressure, more than it would seem was safe. 2) If you have an '01/'02 the rubber coupler that comes attached to the Blackwing needs to be removed first, and the other one that comes tightly wrapped put in its place.
The car feels stronger all across the throttle range. I'm not a race car driver by any means, but I feel it was a worthwhile mod. It also sounds cool when it is sucking air.
Good luck. :seeya

I would also be concerned that only one tire is breaking loose. What are you running in the rear for oil? Have you added any more additive then specified in the manual?
BTW, the Blackwing rules!

(You can substitute pulling fuses instead of disconnecting the battery. Sorry, but I'm not sure which specific fuses, but I think there are two you'll need to pull.)
LS1 Idle Learn Prcedure (from How to Understand, Service and Modify Corvette Fuel Injection and Electronic Engine Management by the late Charles O. Probst)
Here's how you help the computer relearn the minum throttle angle:
(First, disconnect the battery)
Automatic Transmission LS1
1. Turn the key off, reconnect the battery, turn the AC control off, set the parking brake, and block the drive wheels.
2. Start the engine, shift to drive, let the engine idle for five minutes.
3. Turn the AC control on (make sure the AC button light is on). Idle for another five minutes.
4. Leave AC on, shift into park, and idle for yet another five minutes.
5. Turn the AC off, and idle for a final five minutes.
6. Finally, turn the engine off for at least 30 seconds.
Manual Transmission LS1
1. Turn the key off, reconnect the battery, turn the AC control off, set the parking brake, and block the drive wheels.
2. With the transmission in neutral, start the engine.
3. Turn the AC control on (make sure the AC button light is on), and idle for five minutes.
4. Turn the AC off, and idle for another five minutes.
5. Turn the engine off for at least 30 seconds.

As far as the rear end, it is just as it came from the dealer, bought new with less than 10 miles on it.
Do ya's have a web site?
