I'm going to go with false, they are just plastic. I believe most people with built motors keep them on unless they replace the fuel rails and the covers no longer fit. I know with my heads, cam, intake etc. there is no heat issue and I have FRCs.
I was told that the coil covers on a mod motor keep to much heat on the motor, is this truue or false ????
I think the engine compartment looks like crap without them....
Any sugjestions ???
The oem fuel rail covers are just thin plastic so I doubt there is any credible heat study one way or the other. It sounds like another urban myth.
(Watch, some engineer will prove me wrong )
I like the looks of an engine compartment with or without the fuel rail covers. It's subjective. Ownership has its benefits...it's the owners car to do with as the owner pleases...
The engine covers that attach over the rockers and coils have nothing to do with heat in regards to the engine or engine compartment. They are for aesthetic reasons only.
Totally and Completely FALSE
Sorry Hotwheels! Not going to prove you wrong on this one....

BTW - There have been heat studies done...
You're probably not the only engineer in the crowd...
People can post T or F in here, but until they have strapped down and tuned a few 100 LS cars or run them down the quarter 100's of times, they are just trying to be internet master wrench turners
