When I was going through the gears earlier today, my vet bogged down as 2nd was winding out and there was a rich exhaust smell (maybe burning) after. Any idea's what this might be.

The poor mouse that was living in your intake while you had to in storage finally couldn't hang on anymore in the inlet pipe!
Seriously, if the pvc system is stock it is possable that some pooled up oil in the intake manifold made it down and out the ports once enough flow (higher engine rpm) and caused it to burn. As long as everything seems to be ok now, I wouldn't worry tomuch about it. If it happens again I'd be checking out the pvc system or you might take a look down the throttle body opening into the manifold and check of exessive oil.
