Default Check Valve for Washer Fluid?

I have always noticed dried water droplets on my cowl first thing in th mornings. Now that I have a CF Hydrographic cowl that is clearcoated they really stand out. Is there a check valve or something that I can install in the washer lines to prevent this? I never use the washers, but they leak a few drops every trip for the past 8 years.

Check the washer reservoir cap vent to make sure it's not plugged.

I think it's a common problem, try running a little less fluid in the tank.

As I was reading the post,,,,that the first thing that I though of!

I also agree with Quick Silver Z

You cant insert a check valve because, the if you put the check valve in the line to prevent drips, it would also prevents squirts.

There are pressure checks valves that you can install in the line. Those work by using a small poppet valve that opens as the pressure builds when you activate the washer system. Check NAPA. There OEM on different vehicles. C5s dont have them.

If you find one, and install it, make sure you install it close to the squirter as possible.

Ford part no.F8CZ-17A614-AA less than $10.00.remove wiper arms.13mm bolts under the snap off caps.Wiggle and pull off wiper arms.Cut the wiper fluid tube under the blade assembly just before it spits into the 2 output nozzles and install the valve(1 each side)with the check ball pointing towards the pump, away from the nozzles and press fit the assemblyback under the wiper arm prior tore-install.Before removing wiper arms, turn ignitionto accessory, turn the wipers to slow intermittent and turn off the ignition when they are down at end of cycle but not parked on stops. Then mark windshield with masking tape for wiper arm position to indicate were to reinstall. No more leaks, hope this helps.

Actually GM does have a SB covering this:

Windshield Washer Nozzle Leaks on Windshield - appearance bleed check clearance damage fluid leak valve wet water window #PI00990 - (Apr 14, 2003)
Condition/Concern:
Windshield washer fluid drips onto windshield when accelerating or at highway speeds.

Recommendation/Instructions:
Install check valve PN 22102237 in the washer fluid hose before the tee to both nozzles with the arrow on the valve pointing in the direction of fluid flow. Verify operation of pump.

I suppose the cars acceleration does not provide enough force to open the check valve. Or, you could just not fill the reservoir past 2/3 full.

If he has a modified engine maybe he would need a sifter check valve to handle the added acceleration rate??

I have not noticed the problem under acceleration. Mine usually leaks when I pull up my relatively steep sloped driveway.
