Well my issue is resolved. Turns out the main board in my IPC was bad. I bought a used IPC and had my mileage set to the old one. Now it's fine. I'm not sure in your case though. It could be a loose connection inside. Maybe someone with more knowledge can help u out futher. Good luck.
Yeh I'm going to take it all apart this wkend and take a look, but I don't know if its a lose connection or what. What do you mean the whole board, .....can you send me a link to the part you're talking about and where to buy one? How much did it run you? How do you re-set the mileage??? Can you do that on your own or do you need the dealership to do that???? THANK YOU!!!

To tell u the truth if ur not sure on what to do it's best u leave it for a professional. I just bought a used cluster of the auction site and I had forum member Pacethis program the mileage. You can have a dealership do it too.

Ok sounds good...well I never took it 'totally' apart before so don't really know what I'm looking at till I take it apart....didn't have the right tools when I did it lasttime to get the steering wheel down. I'll let ya'll know what I find and hopefully we can get it solved up with out me having to drop 2k to the stealership.....uggghhh!

Hi Guys, FINALLY had some time last wkend to take apart the vette and pull out the IPC to check the connections/wiring etc....and couldn't find any loose wires...I checked to see if anything needed re-solder (sp?) on the main board and I'm not an 'electrical engineer' but I couldn't see anything that I THOUGHT might needed to be fixed, the only thing I noticed was...cha-ching...maby?----the screen that produces the read out looks fried/burnt on one side? I took a pic of the other side of the screen so you can see the differance. I'm wondering if that is indeed the problem? or is that how its 'supposed' to look....AS I was also having problems with my AC Unit screen being 'dim' and when I took that apart (out of curiousity) the screen looked similar with that burnt look...
So do any of you guys know if the screen is the issue? (Again my problem was that: All the buttons work, they 'beep' when pushed, but there is no read up on the 'odometer' screen for or any activity there at all)
Please let me know your thoughts, and also if it is INDEED the screen, do I need to buy a whole new main board, new cluster, or can I just buy a new screen and rebuild the board?
im having the same problem with my dic. When I first crank up the car, it is illuminated just fine and after a few minutes it starts to dim to the point you can barely see it at all. Is it possible to just replace it or does anybody have a fix for this?
