I've read this is not an uncommon problem. Check engine light went on with gas tank at about 1/8 full. Filling tank and checking gas cap did nothing. Went to dealer with tank 7/8 full. They did a pressure test and couldn't find anything wrong but they did stop the light. Now light has come back on and lo and behold the tank is about 1/8 full (same tank of gas). Coincidence? Any experience with this? How can I get rid of the light without it coming back on every time I start the car. Searched codes and reset but it comes back every time I start the car even with tank full. This is totally annoying. Thanks!
I had the same problem for about a month. I took it to the dealer 4 times and they couldn't fix it. They tried to tell me it ws caused by the Vortec intake. :bs I pulled the codes and had a grand total of 39 error codes. I took it to Frank Parra in Dallas. They kept it 5 days but they were able to fix it. The wiring harness along with some other components were damaged from battery acid. (Got a new battery too). Pull the codes and cross reference them in the tech section. Good luck.
