Default FAST MAP Relocation kit

I haven't seen many posts and I am about to do this job. Kit came without instructions so I am not sure if that is normal or not.

Understand that you have to drill a hole in the front FAST EGR area and plug the rear hole - the rest appears pretty simple. The device supplied to plug the rear hole is too big.....so the hole must be drilled? Don't want to go too big and not have proper seal - anyone have a size?

The plug appears to be a hard rubber piece with a screw in the center - not really sure about that design or what the screw accomplishes other than supporting the rubber piece.

Lastly...when you drill do you have to separate the two halves to get the chips out or is there a better way?

If no one has answers I guess I will call FAST and see how their customer support is!

Which FAST model is is? What year car do you have?

On my 2000 coupe with a FAST 78 I just used that hole in the back for the sensor. Used some silicone at the top to hold a nice seal and let it set overnight beecause the rubber seal was a little compressed from the stock LS1 manifold.

The FAST is made to be used on different types of cars. Some of them need to have the one inch hole in the front drilled out. Just be sure to follow the right directions for your car.

I did the relocation kit on my 02 Z. I had the same issues problems and questions. Yes you have to drill out the rear hole. I just used a drill index box and inserted the rubber plug into one of the drill index box holes until I found the hole that gave the plug a nice snug fit. Then just use that drill bit. I drilled out the hole and used a wet en dry Vac vacuum hose inserted into the manifold and sucked up the few chips that fell in. Put grease on the drill bit and very few will fall in.

I drilled a 3/16" hole in the EGR area and that seems to work fine. The hole in the bottom of the sensor is tiny. All you need is a vacuum signal and that small hole will provide it.

When you connect the extension harness to the MAP connector and the Map sensor, make SURE that you get the connectors in the correct orientation. If you reverse the connectors (don't match up the wire colors to the wire colors on the connectors) ,,,you wont get any oil pressure reading on any of the electronic gages. Ask me how I found this out?????

So....no instructions with your kit either?
I also have an extra metal block (silver) - must be for C6's I assume?

Hope I don't have any issues with bolts coming loose after install like some have!

Like Bill says, the plug furnished for the rear hole it too large. It's just a expanding rubber plug, so I went to Home Depot and got a smaller one, instead of drilling out the hole. I didn't want to worry about getting all the plastic chips out. The front plug will be plenty secure once installed. I should give you no further problem.

Stopped at Home Depot today with the expanding rubber plug - went in plumbing & hardware and managers in both sections said they don't have anything like that.
Guess I will be getting the drill out!
