Default upgrades

I am in need of some advice. I purchased about 3 months an automatic c5 1999 vette. Looks fast but feel it could be juiced up a little more. Currently I have added a BBK cold air induction, upgrade MAF sensor, installed B@B bullet exhaust. What else can I do (trying to keep under 1000 bucks) to get me above the 400-425 HP range (not at the wheels) Thank you for your suggestions.

A set of headers and ls6 intake manifold. Check the F/S section for a used set.

PLEASE,,,,,,,,,,,, let me be the FIRST to introduce you to C5 Hype.

The ONLY way that your going to be able to get to that goal is FORCED INDUCTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With your current mods,,,, your lucky to achieve 10-12 Hp.

I wont be the only one to tell you this..

Sans the forced induction route, your best HP/TQ improvement route is Headers, VARARAM and FAST/90 ,,CNC heads + a good tune.

If you think I full of BS,,,,,,,,,,just wait for the future replays !

I don't know Bill, he's talking about crank HP. Full bolt-ons and a damn good tune could get him there. I'm at 350/350 RW which "should" be around 400 at the Flywheel but I have a stick...

Not knowing what your MAP sensor upgrade is, but I'd venture a guess that you're getting zero performance / hp/torque increase from this mod.........The stock / OEM MAP should be good up to your hp goal and then some, while assuring you the best throttle response and over all efficient operation of your LS1. Many forum members have experience problems with the after-market MAPs being sold, and have removed them and re-installed their OEM sensor.

I agree with most of the above. If you're trying to stay under $1000 the only way to get close is a set of used long tube headers, a LS6 intake and a tune.

I also agree with jovette, that upgraded MAF is most likely doing you more harm than good.

Get the tune first then re-evaluate your budget. You will be amazed, I have an A4 and picked up 29 rwhp.

Well,,,,,I didnt see the (not at the wheels) Sorry,,

If it were me,,,,I would look for a good set of headers. You may even find a used set for a reasionable cost. Install them your self and then get it tuned...

A good set of headers and a tune will net you 25-30 HP easy.
