1999 C5 Electrical Problems - water related
I hit some deep standing water last night, stalling out my C5. I drained the battery trying to restart before just parking it and catching a ride home. Tried to jump it this morning and had no juice at all (not even clicking while starting or use of accessories). The only noise I could get was a consistent beep with the ignition on.
Afterward a few minutes, I noticed a clicking noise (constant w/o key inserted) coming from the silver (relay?) box next to the Instrument Panel Fuse Block in the passenger side toe compartment.
Any ideas what that box is or what the noises indicate? My local dealership is not entirely trustworthy and I'd like to make the appointment armed with some knowledge. Thanks.

Remove the air filter/air bridge assemble and inspect for a wet filter and water. If the filter is soaked, get another one. Check the MAF sense wires for contamination. Reinstall the filter and air bridge
Once the battery is recharged, reinstall it (positive battery cable on first, negative on last) Once you have the battery back in, clear ALL the DTCs (connecting the battery can throw random codes) and then attempt to restart the engine.
Is that silver box (the BCM) WET??????? If it is while you have the battery disconnected, dry it out!!!!
If it wont start,,,STOP! Read and post all your DTCs. That will point you to what may be the problem.
