Mine does the exact same thing. And yes, I know the difference between piston slap and lifter tick. I'm fairly certain it's because that Mobil 1 5w-30 is just too damned thin because when I crank it up in the morning it's fine. There's no ticking at all. But from a hot start when that oil turns to water thickness it's tickity tickity until the lifters sort themselves out. I've heard the exact same thing from a friend's '03 Z06 as well.
Next oil change I'll be switching to something significantly thicker like a 15W-40 or even 20W-50 based on the recommendations of some very knowledgeable engine builders I've spoken too. And I live in FL. It's hot as hell here.
