1998 C5 Help
1) What do i need to install this intake/tb and accessories? i have the new gasket set. Will this affect my PCM or can i simply do the reset procedure?
2) What cam would you reccomend?
3) Any performance suggestions or tips?

Here is what I had on my 02 ZO6 just to get to the 390 HP mark.
-Stainless Works 1 3/4" primary LT headers
- 3" Stainless Works Mid Pipe with X pipe and Random High flow CATs
- VARARAM
- Ported stock TB
-178 degree Thermostst
With just what I listed above I was at 385 RWHP 375 TQ and it was tuned professionally to reach that point. My car is a ZO6 so I already have the heads that your looking at. Without the tune my fuel economey suffered baddly and the car ran really rich. Went from 29 MPG highway to 23-24 MPG highway. After tuning I was back to 28 MPG
The car ran excellent and the clutch was very happy.
Last April I added the following mods on top of what is listed above to acheive the 450+ mark and Im at 450 RWHP right now:
-Patroit Performance Stage II heads
-Aftermarket 7.40" pushrods
-Ported FAST 90 manifold
-90 mm ported LS2 TB
42 lb/hr injectors
-ENGLANDGREEN Whiplash cam (he has a whiplashII cam now

-Powerbond harmonic damper
-Professional Tune (A MUST or it wont even run!

)The above listes MODs will net you the 450-460 HP that your looking for but,,,,there are other thing that you should consider that need to be up-graded with the above mods:
-ARP Damper Bolt
-ARP Head Studs
-LS2 Timing Chain
-Melling oil pump
-Pin the damper to the crank snout
- LS6 style coolant crossover pipes/blank off plugs
-MAP Sensor relocation kit
There are other nickel dime things that you will need but, you get the picture.
IF, you go this deep,,,you will need a big tool box and access to a professional tuner.
As I was road tuning my ZO6 with my EFI live, the car started making good power as we pulled out fuel. The closer we got to the 450 mark, the more the stock ZO6 clutch slipped.

So,,,if you decide that 450 is your goal, add a new heavy duty aftermarket clutch to the list of MUST HAVE items. Do you have access to 93 octane fuel?? That also is a must. Those Stage II heads are 11:1 compression.
Once you pass the 400HP mark things like your high mileage torque tube bushings, differential output shafts all become weak points so, you will need to change those out (torque tube bushings need to be change at a minimum)
Dont mean to sound like all doom and gloom but, these are facts that you need to know before you set out on your MOD journey.
BC
So, is all of this doable in Germany??
