There is an upgrades for the FOB and Tire pressure transmitters. You basically install a 2001+ RFA and order 2001+ fobs and tire pressure transmitters.
If you order the early style FOBs,, I recommend getting new because they do go bad over time.
You can program up to THREE fobs for you car. On the door you will see Mem -1 Mem- 2 and if you press Mem -1 & Mem- 2 that will give you a third memory.
Man they are really, read that as REALLY expensive ! I got just one with my '98 coupe and it didn't work. I found that the ones for the '98 &'99 are the most expensive and I hear it's because of that passive feature. I replaced the battery, then re-learned them to the car, then did it many more times and it still didn't work right till I read on here about a way to fix them once and for all. The guy used a soldering iron to solder the battery points back to the circuit, and said you could use super glue. I was at the point of throwing mine away, and since my hands aren't so steady with the age factor, I used the super glue and it's worked very well ever since. This place is great for people to share information. Especially Bill above. When he says something, he's right !
