Don't use a tie rod end seperator. If you do, you'll probably end up ripping the rubber grease boot and then you'll need a replacement.

Just did tierod ends today on my Bro's 2001 Z06. Just remove upper bolt (18mm), but first brake free lock nut (22MM nut). You'll also need a hex key socket to hold the upper end of the tie rod end from spinning when you remove.

After removing nut use a rubber mallet and give it a couple of wacks and it will fall right out.

Suggest you not remove the nut completely. Just loosen until flush with the stud, then give it a whack or use a puller designed for this job.

Mine popped right out. Knocked the job off in about an half hour, but it was already up on the lift and the tires were off.

Installed a set of bump steer tie rod ends. Just need an alignment.
