Optima battery question
Can I use a blue top or do I have to use a red top ( I heard the blue was for marine use, but is there a big difference in specs that it won't work) ?

Sorry, you can't use the blue top as it is designated for marine use only and the C5 has side post terminals that the blue top does not have.
The blue top only has dual TOP posts only which are mainly used for boats.

The new Delco AGM battery like used in the '01's and up is a similar type design(not round cells but the no liquid type), and is a couple of pounds lighter than the Optima.

Marine batteries are deep cycle designed batteries and will not last as long as a regular car battery if you use them in a NON-Marine application. GO WITH THE RED TOP.

Red top is for normal use and is recommended for daily driving.
Yellow top is deep cycle and can be used for daily driving and keeps the battery charged better during long period of not driving the car. If you drive the car on a normal basis or just even weekends buy the red top and you will like it. :yesnod:
