I've been thinking about this too... Did you already install the new line? If not, I'd straighten it out on the rear section so that it comes towrds the front of the car higher up... then down to the compressor.

not sure how close you are running. I have about an inch. There's a ton of places that sell insulation . I like the stuff I got from McMaster car, but Jegs and Summit also sell other styles of insulation that can wrap instead of sliding over the tube.
