Default my wipers are going crazy!!!!

hey guys!!! it has rained alot in new york lately.. with that being said it happened to be sunny finally this past sunday so i took my c5 for a hand wash. when i got out of the car wash the wipers started acting up the would go up about 3 inchs then go back to the off setting. it did this a few times and tehn got stuck on the 3 inch setting. since then when i tuirn the car on it moves a lil bit but they do not go on. If i turn teh switch to high sometimes it will work. i checked the fuse first it was fine. also i looked into new moter for the wipes looking about 350 to get the job done any suggestions on how i could solve this problem myself before i fork out the cash is there anything i can do to make them go back to normal????

Your wiper control module is under water because your drivers side windshield cowl drain udders are clogged with trash. The module sits in a well with drain udders in it.

Reach your hand in the opening between the clutch resivour and the brake booster and feel for the THREE udders. Pop them out and clean them. They pop back in easy. Hopefully your module will dry out and yoiu dont have to replace it!

Hey Madd, same issue here - they melted down last week after one of the thunderstorms. Nasty stuff in the udders. I had to pull the fuse in the foot well to get my wipers to stop. Good luck and hopefully they dry out.

Sometimes it takes quite a while for them to dry out. Sometimes, they NEVER dry out and require replacement. Cant tell you how long it will take.

I had the same problem about 6 months ago.
I ended up getting a new motor at autozone for less than $100.

It is pretty easy to change, but just be carsful and follow the directions on how to reinstall them because if you are not careful you will have one heck of a time getting them to park.

the motor from autozone came with detailed instructions and even a picture that helped alot.
