my car is lowered all the way on stock bolts... i heard of getting longer bolts to get it even lower..but i dont want to spend 60 bux on lowering bolts from a vette vendor... i heard of people gettin them from the hardware store for a couple bux...
does anyone have the details on exactly what bolts and what i need to successfully drop my car even more
C6 bolts up front. A longer bolt wont do anything up front except make you crank it on longer. You need a skinnier bushing up front to allow the spring to settle down closer to the control arm. Out back is where you need the longer bolts. I suggest getting the C6 front bolts from a vendor such as WCC or Zip and go to the hardware store with one of your rear bolts and get one a little longer in Grade 8.... or if you get the rear kit from WCC they give you new bushings for out back as well, unsure of Zip. I have the WCC kit on my car front and back. Hope this helps!
I have a rear set but I will need to find them I was going to lower the rear but my car doesn't make it up my drive now. 25 shipped if i can find them PM me and I will look for them they are new!

for bolts i can go to a hardware store and buy for a couple bux...
i ordered front bolts from Wcc and when i go to switch out the fronts im gonna take out 1 of my rears and go to menards and get longer bolts and prolly cut the stock bushings..
Make sure to jack up the spring with a piece of wood to help lift the control arm... without doing this you will strip the bolt because it won't turn due to too much pressure on it. Also I suggest spraying PB Blaster all over the bottom of the bolt at the control arm the night before, the bushing seems to vulcanize to the control arm making it difficult to turn. When turning it free, you will probably need to take something and help pry the bushing free of the control arm, once the bushing is free of the control arm it should be very easy to spin free. You will have to keep the spring jacked up though to give the bolt room to back out. Another thing that makes it MUCH easier it to unbolt the lower control arm to give you more room between spring and arm. Hope this helps!!!!
This thread made me realize that the previous owner lowered mine already! Mine is like the middle pic, "lowered on stock bolts". I wondered why mine was always scooping all of the roadkill into the ditches!!
does anyone know the exact bolt details to get for the rear..so i can get them before my front bolts come in and i will have everything ready to go for install...instead of taken everythign apart and runnen to a hardware store to buy em while my vette is crippled on jackstands haha
Go to the automotive store ( Napa?)and get 2 1/2x13x7" socket head bolts(they will be hardened) (uses an allen wrench) 4 heavy duty flat washers and 2 1/2x13 elastic stop nuts. Keep the original buhings in place, have the nuts going on the top. You'll have at least 1/2" threads showing on the top. Don't go to certain home improvement stores that will sell you inferior (China) hard ware. Good luck.
