Yesterday I passed over a deep pothole and from that moment I got a regular poping sound on the wheel that increases with speed. As I increase the speed the steering wheel also starts to vibrate, I have checked externally the wheels and they apparently are not damaged. I cannot know exactly where the noise comes from. The pop sound is similar when the car passes over road joints and it seems to me that at high speeds another whine sound comes form the rear of the car
Sounds like you need to pull the wheel off and check your suspension to see if something broke or bent. Look at your A-arms for a fracture, shock bent or leaking. It'll give you the opportunity to make sure the wheel is not bent out of shape. Just look around, sounds like it took a good hit.
You may also want to inspect the tire really well or take it to a tire shop to see if you damaged the steel belts or side wall.
If you know the exact location of the pot hole and contact the DOT they may even cover for the damage cost to your car in some states. This is also covered by most auto insurance coverage.
