can anyone tell me what sensor this is and where it goes? was in a box with a bunch of 1999 vette parts...thanks!!!

Its a camshaft or a crankshaft sensor. Ill bet the tip of that, just next to the o-ring, is magnetic. It looks just like the ones i just changed in two other kinds of cars(other than this one is shorter, a lil. My guess is Crankshaft sensor.

I don't believe the crankshaft or camshaft sensor on an LS1 has a pigtail.

It is a cam position sensor, but not for an LS1.

The LS2 and LS3 engines use that sensor.

There will be a part number on the plug connect of the sensor. It is a cam sensor. It could be for an LS2, LS3, LS7 .... They all look the same. The LS1 cam sensor is much longer.
