more electrical weirdness
But, this is only supposed to mean that ABS,TC and AH are no longer functional.
But, now I've got new problems.
DIC says service vehicle soon and service the suspension.
Also I have no washer fluid working. Granted I've never actually used it before so I'm not positive it ever worked but the car only has 38k on it.
I have wipers which are supposed to be on the same fuse and the connector to the pump has a good ground. But no voltage.
All wiper speeds work.
What is going on with this thing? Is all this stuff tied into the EBCM harness somehow?
I'd like to know if I should be using this down time to chase the problems or just wait for the EBCM and everything will be cool.
Any and all help is really appreciated.
If I can't get these appearently common issues ironed out I'm considering selling the third and only GM car I've ever had that was worth over $1,000 and newer than 15 years old.
Enjoy that bonus and rot in Hell Rick Wagoner.
As to your problem with the wiper fluid, check fuse 10 (25A). If that doesn't work it's time to pull the knee bolster and check for power at the stalk connections.
You're probably getting reduced power due to the ABS system being down. You'll be able to verify that in a couple of days when you get yourrepaired EBCM module back in place.

If you can't fix these common issues, then it only speaks to your level or expertise, ability to understand schematics, or just plain lack of patience. If you think you will buy another car made today, in which the systems are less integrated/complex.....you're fooling yourself. The technology on the C5 is at least 15 years old(if you count development time).
The fuse checked out ok.
I didn't have a second hand last night to check voltage at the pin with the switch on and at the fuse box at the same time. Maybe tonight.
I did check voltage at the pump pin with the switch on. I pressed it down through the window opening. No voltage.
My appologies Rick.
Yes it is a lack of patience. Because I shouldn't have to be suprised with a new problem when ever I want to drive the car.
I can understand schematics, I just don't have any. Point is I shouldn't need them on a car with 38k miles.
I have a range rover with 150k miles on it and more electrical bs than the vette could even think of having and it doesn't have this many problems.
I have a 2007 Pacifca filled with more electronics and entertainment bs than the vette with almost the same miles and no problems.
Blaming my abilities to fix a car that shouldn't be broken or just accepting the car constantly failing, which as stated are common issues, shouldn't be necessary by me or anyone on this forum. It is just plain unacceptable to have continued and variable electrical issues on a low mile chassis that was stored in a hangar in Arizona and rarely driven.
I'm just getting mad at it mostly because I go out to drive it and there is some new problem related to something electrical failing that gets displayed on the DIC. I turn it off and drive something else for the day.
Thanks for everyones input.

Everything made has it's share of issues....just because you don't know about them, or your particular vehicle does not exibit those problems....does not mean they do not exist.
Finally, this really is the wrong place to bitch about your dislike for you corvette(or it's design). Just sell it.....you'll feel better...

The car is getting old and suffers from the usual casualties of age. Not that hard to fix in my opinion. Spend a few dollars and get the factory manuals or pick it up on a DVD.
It will do wonders to help you.
You might want to spray in some electrical cleaner spray in the column stalk to clean the contacts if you're already checked the fuse.
