Default passive entry questions/trouble

I know everyone seems to have variable opinions on the autolock and unlock.

I personally got into the habit of having mine on and knowing if forgot to lock the doors they would automatically lock for me.
Not to mention fumbline and mashing the wrong button when unlocking them from time to time.

Recently both Fobs quit allowing the passive entry. Could be a coincidence or not. The fob still works fine for manual entry and locking.

Just to be sure i replaced both batteries in the FOB (and in the car was getting old and figured 7 years it was time) , and reprogrammed them.
I also took the fobs apart and cleaned them well.

No luck, at this point i think i need to find someone with a passive entry that works and just test their fob on it ... (or get an extra new one).
That is unless anyone might have some suggestions.

I've read somewhere that some folks had multiple problems with there FOBS and found bad solder connections on the board. With both having the same problem and that you cleaned them it is possible your receiver may be having problems. I'm assuming in the process of cleaning that you pushed the passive switches a couple of time on/off and that you used electronic contact/circuit board cleaner.

If you did the above I guess I would check for loose solder connections then check the receiver.
